Major Don "Lash" LaRueEmbassy Skateboards of Houston has a tribute skateboard out to honor my time in combat and military service. The proceeds of this deck will be going to The Wounded Warrior Project, of which I am also an Alumni. I was injured in 2 separate IED blasts during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The passing of Dr. Edward D. Johnson

I sit here tonight with a heavy heart as I write this message. Yesterday Brothers Eddie (Magic) Johnson Zeta Mu and Jim Johnson Gamma Eta (University of Texas) lost their father Dr. Edward D. Johnson (also an ATO from the University of Texas).

For those that do not know, Dr. Johnson was instrumental in keeping the Zeta Mu chapter together in the early 1980’s. After we lost the house on 16th and Ave J, a Limited Partnership was formed with Dr. Johnson being the General Partner and a group of other ZM Brother’s being the Minor Partner’s. The partnership then purchased a couple of houses on 15th and Ave I so that we would have a place to call our own.

There will be a Memorial Service for Dr. Edward D. Johnson at 11:00 this Saturday at Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston.

Please keep Eddie, Jim and their sister Diane in your thoughts and prayers as they have now lost both of their parents this year. As any further details come to me I will post them.

Hubert Nelson Bruns - “Nelson”, class of 1964, who was previously listed as a member of “Chapter Eternal” contacted us to announce that he is alive, well and living in Houston! Hopefully Nelson can join us at the reunion and relate a few stories about how he’s been spending the past few years.

Support Lyndsey Hagan at Walk for Breast Cancer

When I heard about the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer I knew that this was something that I had to participate in. I am walking in honor of my aunt, Linda DeLange Bennett, who lost her battle with breast cancer on November 3, 2010. On April 16-17, I’ll spend the weekend walking in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. The walk is 39.3 miles long and I will spend the next few months training, fundraising, and preparing for this event. I’m very excited about doing it.

Gift of Life

To All my Friends:

If any of you can donate a pint of blood, a friend of ours named Ralph Bell has been diagnosed with leukemia, and needs to raise 100 pints of blood asap. What a wonderful early Christmas present this will be for Ralph,….and for those who donate. The “Gift of Life” is so very special,…and your pint of blood is a special gift.

The Blood Bank bus will be at Marion Frankie’s real estate office Thursday December 23rd (next to Texas Community Bank at 5452 Highway 105 West, Suite 105, Conroe, TX 77304). Please call Tammy at 936-672-2091 to schedule a time.

Please tell all your friends. This special gift requires only a little time to donate a pint of blood. Thank you in advance for any consideration you may give to sharing the gift of life”.
