Brother Bo Robert's Health

I thought that everyone would want to see what Susie has written as it explains, in detail a lot of things that are happening with my physical life. I have been frustrated and am regularly using a cane when out of the house as I never know when I will have an episode which makes it difficult to walk.

The good news is that it appears that there is a less likely chance I have MSA. Bo

RIP “Quantity vs. Quality” Recruitment Myth

From the Sigma Nu Fraternity HQ blog:

ESPN reported today that Butler’s men’s basketball team earned top honors among this year’s Final Four contenders:

On Tuesday, the NCAA released its list of academic overachievers, and Butler was the only team among those that reached this year’s championship round in Division I football, men’s basketball or women’s basketball.

Butler head coach and class act Brad Stevens (an Alpha Tau Omega) explained why excelling in the classroom is merely a basic expectation:

“To be real candid, that’s an expectation of mine, so we’re not going to do cartwheels or shoot fireworks because this is something we achieved,” coach Brad Stevens said after the release. “That’s an expectation and that’s what we’re going to strive to do. I’m proud of our guys, but they came to Butler to do well in the classroom, on the court and in the community, and that’s what we expect.

Alpha Tau Omega CJ majors demonstrate patriotic feelings

This article by Kolby Flowers originally appeared in The Houstonian, May 3, 2011.

In the aftermath of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden’s death, new debates have emerged.

What happens next for the ‘War on Terror?’”

34 ATOs Shane Rankin & Mike Ritchie”Americans understand the costs of war,” President Barack Obama said in a press conference Sunday night. “Yet, as a country, we will never tolerate our security being threatened, nor stand idly by when our people have been killed.”

On nights like this one, we can say to those families who have lost loved ones to al-Qaida’s terror: Justice has been done.”

However, bin Laden’s death does not mark the end of the U.S. effort.

There’s no doubt that al-Qaida will continue to pursue attacks against us,” Obama said. “We must, and will remain vigilant at home and abroad.”

How to make a difference

Orin Covell is the example to follow

by Denise Adams. FromThe Fort Bend Herald Thursday, November 11, 2010 Denise Adams is a former Fort Bend Herald staff writer who is now a high school journalism teacher at B.F. Terry High School. She remains a regular contributor to The Herald as a writer, photographer and weekly columnist.

A city can be characterized by bricks, buildings and roads. A community, on the other hand, is a reflection of the people who live there, those who create a sense of family.

Fort Bend County lost one of its most beloved pillars of the community with the passing of Orin Covell. Orin’s list of accomplishments are enviable — numerous booster clubs, MUD boards and civic boards.

At his wake, the line to greet Orin’s family stretched outside the funeral home and down the driveway. Many of us waited over an hour in line to hug Becky, and everyone from mayors to judges to business executives to college buddies came to pay their respects at both the wake and the funeral.

I remember Orin as the smiling guy in the starched white shirt and impeccable silver hair who’d start to tell me a story and, 30 minutes later, get to the end. But what a marvelous ride Orin took us on when he told his stories.
