The men of the Zeta Mu Chapter at Sam Houston State University recently welcomed Senior Leadership Consultant Matt Stark to Huntsville, Texas for his bi-annual visit. Matt presented information on the chapter’s progress in the eyes of National HQ, met with chapter officers, spoke with the school’s Greek Life officials, and gave specialized information on how to amp-up Zeta Mu’s Signature Event.
The anual Homecoming Football game will be on October 20th at 7pm at Bowers Stadium. Tailgaiting fesivities will begin around 4pm in the usual parking lot at the stadium.

My name is Adam Howell and I have been recently elected as the replacement liaison between the active Zeta Mu chapter and it’s alumni. I am a Junior as of this past summer and am looking forward to another year in Huntsville.
As of now, Career Day has been scheduled at noon on Saturday, October 13th at the Zeta Mu lodge in Huntsville.
Without going into detailed specifics the doctor has given me the “all clear!” sign. No more chemotherapy required. No more surgery required. The pathologist sent 36 slides of the tumor to the Mayo Clinic because of its rarity to confirm the findings. Bottom line: your prayers and positive thoughts worked! Thank you, my Brothers. I am forever in your debt for the Love and Respect that you have shown my family and me since this was first diagnosed last November. I look forward to seeing all of you soon and sharing our Brotherhood! God bless all of you!
For those of you who don’t know what the thymus is (I didn’t!), it’s where T-cells “go to school” to learn how to fend off diseases in your pre-adolescent years. As you mature and reach puberty, the thymus breaks down and absorbs itself into your body. It disappears. Except in a very small handful of people. Some bodies don’t break down the thymus while others - for reasons not yet known - develop a thymus again! Yours truly is in the “grew one again” category. (“Damn Vulcan physiology!” - Dr. McCoy, “Star Trek”) Interestingly, there are only about 400 known cases of thymoma in the U.S.
As alternative to the traditional social mixer, Zeta Mu has teamed up with the Alpha Delta Pi’s, Delta Mu Chapter, for a service mixer. For the mixer, the ladies of Alpha Delta Pi came out and participated in our monthly highway clean-up. The event was such a great success that we have already begun to plan another highway clean-up with the ADPi’s. We thank them for there support, and look forward to our next service mixer with them

If you know how to reach any of these brothers, please contact them, let them know about the reunion and get updated contact information for our records. We could also use help locating any of the brothers on the Lost Brothers list.
This is the online home of the Texas Zeta Mu ATO Alumni Association (Sam Houston State University, Huntsville). We have an online database of alumni contact information, chapter & alumni news, events, reference materials and more.
We’re putting out a call for volunteers to assist in making this site more useful to our brothers. Can you help? We need:
- Brothers to create ‘how to’ articles and screencasts
- graphics talent
- help updating the alumni contact list
- volunteers to write short articles of interest to the other brothers
- photographers to upload photos
- photo editors
- event editor
- people to buy drinks for the web team
Most of these roles do not require any special skills. For example, if you can call a “lost” brother and gather information to update the contact list, we need you! If you are willing and able to help Zeta Mu grow its online presence, please sign up for an account. If you have any questions, please use the contact form to send feedback or call David Matocha at (281) 201-4470.
