At tonight’s Sam Houston State Univerity Sammy Awards, the Best Social Fraternity Award was won by the Zeta Mu chapter of Alpha Tau Omega! Well done brothers! Ru Rah Rega!
Brothers, the active members of the Zeta Mu Chapter are currently holding a March Madness fundraiser for the spring semester. Each entry form is $5 and earns you an to fill out a bracket for the March basketball tournament that begins March 21th.
Brothers Mike Ritchie, Justin Nebelkopf, Zach Crowder (pictured) & Matt Burr all walked-the stage yesterday, December 14th, 2012.
Brother Stanley Webb III passed-away in May 2012, from a long battle with cancer.
Stanley was a lifelong resident of Odem, Texas. He was a successful farmer & developer in the Odem area.
A few years ago, Stanley’s name was on the “Lost Brothers” list. Since I was from Odem and knew Stanley, I reported his address and phone number. He was also on “Facebook”. Believe he was initiated in the early sixties… 1962 or 1963. I graduated in 1961, and he was a few years behind me.
His Obituary was in the “Odem-Edroy Times”, back in May.
I do not have all his information. I know he left a wife & children & grandchildren. I did not have a contact for ATO-ZM, until I received an email yesterday (8-5-2012). Please add Stanley’s name to your “Chapter Eternal’“ list.
I am not easily fooled…I usually can sniff out a plot when it is underway, but this time you caught me completely unawares…I was blown away with the recognition and generosity shown to me at the reunion…the shotguns have been a wish of mine, since the old heirloom family 16 ga. Model 12 was burned up while I was at Sam…Duffer’s buffalo painting will occupy a prominent place in my office, and the Little Bird caricature statue was just off the charts…INCREDIBLE!
In support of the Sam Houston State University Bearkat football program, the City of Huntsville will light the Sam Houston statue in orange for tomorrow night’s playoff game. According to City of Huntsville Community Services Director Matt Lumpkins, the statue will remain orange as long as the Bearkats are in the playoffs. “Using orange lenses over the spotlights we have on the Sam Houston statue, the City will turn Sam orange for the playoff game,” Lumpkins said.
