Zeta Mu ATO brother John R. Thomas, founder and president of Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg (TX), was recently interviewed by San Antonio Magazine. He had an optimistic forecast for this year’s wildflower harvest.

“We’re excited for a colorful spring,” says Thomas. “We are seeing a whole lotta bluebonnets growing right now.” Thomas pioneered the commercial production of wildflower seeds and is considered an expert in the, ahem, field. “People love to grow wildflowers in a low-water situation, which we’re in,” he says. “And everybody loves the bluebonnet. It’s almost a rite for Texans to have a picture of their child or their pet in a field of bluebonnets.”
